The Heron River Carnival was a resounding success. It was a great way to wind down summer and a fun time was had by all in attendance. Plenty of popular carnival games like “Pluck a Duck” and “Go Fishing” kept the kids entertained and the water slide was the perfect antidote for a hot summer day. The kids enthusiastically climbed up the slide, zipped down to the pool below then scrambled back up to do it all over again.
Approximately 56 kids and 28 adults played games of corn hole and flamingo ring toss while munching on hot dogs. Over 100 hot dogs were served throughout the event. The games were a big hit with the kids. Linea Beckham’s favorite was the “Go Fishing” game. Ryan Flores liked “Pluck a Duck” and “Toilet Bowl Toss” was Tyler’s favorite. He skillfully won several prizes at this booth.
The gunny sack races were a popular event with Mia Lennet and Brody Hoisen coming out on top and winning gift certificates to Sea Salt Creamery. CTC Telecom sponsored the carnival and had a booth staffed by Isaiah and Chad who answered homeowner questions and handed out CTC swag. They were a great help with tear down at the end of the day.
An event like this could not succeed without the hard work and dedication of volunteers. A huge shout out to our volunteers for working so hard to make the carnival a success.
